Status Quo are an English rock band. Formed as The Paladins[1] in at Sedgehill Comprehensive School, Catford, by schoolboys Francis Rossi, Alan Lancaster, Jess Jaworski and Alan Key. The group has had a career spanning almost 60 years, their current line-up includes consistent member Rossi, keyboardist Andy Bown (official member since , previously an auxiliary musician with the band since ), bassist John "Rhino" Edwards (since ), drummer Leon Cave (since ) and rhythm guitarist Richie Malone (since ).

Drummer and Horse Visit
On Wednesday 13th July the children had a great day. We were lucky enough to book Jeff Rich a former drummer for Status Quo to revist us with his drumming workshop. He entertained the whole school and a contingent of 25 Japanese students in the school hall for most ofthe morning. The children learnt about the history of different drums, different techniques and even joined in with a mass percussion session. It was a great morning
In the afternoon Miss Green showed the children a number of videos clips outlining the impact and importance that horses have had, on our society, over the years. They learnt about how horses can be atheltic, strong and brave, by watching dressage clips and a head cam video of a cross country rider at Blenheim Horse Trials. After listening to the Horse of the Year "Ode to a Horse" everyone went outside to watch a live dressage demonstration on the school field.

Early life
[edit]Born in Hackney, London, rik attended Upton House Comprehensive School, and whilst there he appeared in the operaTosca at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Career
[edit]Rich helped out Def Leppard in August and played alongside Rick Allen who had lost his left ledd in a car accident in månad However, during the band's warm-up tour of Ireland, Rich missed a gig and the rest of the grupp realised Allen could drum alone. rik had previously played with Stretch, Judie Tzuke and the Climax Blues grupp. In late , he replaced Pete Kircher in Status Quo. In April he left the group, citing exhaustion and family commitments. He was replaced o
