Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born in São Pedro, Funchal, on the island of Madeira, Portugal, and grew up in Santo António, Funchal. Pro soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo is approaching a milestone birthday and, seemingly, another milestone contract. Ronaldo, who turns 40 on February 5, is negotiating a new deal with his current club team Al-Nassr.
According to Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport, the Saudi Pro League squad is set to offer Ronaldo an extension worth more than £3 million—or $3.67 million—per week, plus performance incentives. That means it could be worth more than $200 million over a full year.
Already the world’s highest-paid athlete, Ronaldo’s current contract expires in June. No official deal has been reached, but talks between the team and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner are “positive and progressing,” according to Jacobs. Ronaldo would also become an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
