A Filipino pop singer with smooth romantic styles, Daryl Ong rose to national fame in 2014 after appearing on the second season of the talent contest, The Voice of the Philippines. He sealed his star status with the 2016 hit "Stay," which was the theme song to a popular Filipino television drama called On the Wings of Love. Born in the city of Puerto Princesa, Ong nurtured his singing talent from a young age and sang in local pop groups, entering singing contests like Pinoy Pop Superstar and Pinoy Idol in 2005 and 2009. He became a member of the boy band Voices of 5, who released an album in 2013 containing several of Ong's original songs. During this time, he also worked as an animator on the popular television show Super Inggo, while maintaining his YouTube presence as a singer and songwriter. He rose to fame after joining the singing competition The Voice of the Philippines (season 2).
