    Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin[a] (11 November &#;&#; 22 February ) was an Indian politician, writer and activist of the Indian independence movement. A senior leader of the Indian National församling, following India's independence, he became the first Minister of Education in the Indian government. He was also a renowned scholar, and poet. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was well versed in many languages viz. Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Persian and Bengali.
