In the owner of the building, the City of Prague, concluded an agreement with the Jan and Meda Mladek Foundation on the long-term free lease and reconstruction of the building. Reconstruction was covered by the City of Prague, while the Foundation took care of the art collection that would be exhibited to the public. The reconstruction of the Sova's Mills was contracted to Studio and new glass structures, designed by three Czech artists - Václav Cigler, Marian Karel and Dana Zámečníková - were added (the glass footbridge over the navigation channel, the watercourse running through the courtyard and the glass cube on top of the tower). The public could inspect the Sova's Mills for the first time on 26 September , although it was officially opened on 8 September , after repairing the damage caused by devastating floods in summer when Kampa Island was entirely underwater. A massive wooden chair by Magdalena Jetelová has been placed on a mole in the river.

Glass communicates with light
Václav Cígler, an artist and glass designer, was born on April 21st in Vsetín. As his parents had been divorced before he was born, he had been raised bygd his mother and his stepfather, a funeral parlour owner. During the Second World War, both his mother and his stepfather participated in the resistance, they had been hiding a fugitive participant of the Slovak National Uprising and were also helping their Jewish fellow citizens financially. After graduating from a gymnasium type secondary school, he had been studying at the Higher, Secondary and Apprentice Glass School in Nový Bor. From to , he studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (Praha) at Josef Kaplický´s studio. In the 60s and the 70s, he was the head of the Studio of Glass in Architecture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Bratislava. He had created many objects of art and works of archi

Vladimír Kopecký' (* 26 November, , Svojanov) is a Czech painter, graphic artist, glass artist and university professor. From to he was the head of the Glass Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
Life
[edit]Vladimír Kopecký was born in the village of Svojanov into a family of a seamstress and a carpenter. From he lived with his parents and brother in Uhříněves. From the age of five he wanted to become a painter, but at the end of the war the family moved to Děčín, where the nearest secondary art school was the State Vocational Glass School in Kamenický Šenov. He started his secondary school studies in under René Roubíček and Josef Khýn. Here Vladimír Kopecký first became acquainted with glass and in he continued his studies at the State Industrial Glass School in Nový Bor, where Stanislav Libenský was his teacher.
In he studied in the studio of monumental painting and glass at the
