With John Tyler known as the “accidental president” due to the death of President William Henry Harrison, his time in the White House was one of many firsts. He was the first vice president to take on the role of president, while his first wife, Letitia, was the first First Lady to die in the White House and his second wife, Julia, was the youngest First Lady at the time (surpassed only by Francis Cleveland).
