After yet another anniversary of the abolishment of the Khilafah state it is important for us to reflect upon its history and the reaction of the Muslims towards its demise and eventual destruction. It is assumed by some that the Muslims and their scholars did not react to the call for the abolishment of Khilafah and that they did not realise its significance. This is untrue, history is a testament to the reaction of the Muslims, their struggle to maintain it and their pain at the eventual removal of the shade of Allah (swt) from the earth. The example of the Muslims of India and its renowned Khilafat Movement demonstrates this.

Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam was an illustrious nabi of Allah Ta‘ala. He was born during the time when Namrud was king, whose subject’s practised idolatry and worshiped the stars. Namrud han själv claimed to be a god. Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam used to prevent people from idol worship and propagated the worship of one Allah Ta‘ala, thus Namrud and his subjects were extremely displeased with Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam. Even the father of Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam Adhar, who used to make idols and was also an idol worshipper himself, became annoyed and disgusted with his son.
Namrud ordered wood to be gathered and a huge fire to be lit, in which Nabi Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam was cast. However, Allah Ta‘ala ordered the fire to become cool for his friend, such that even his clothes were unscathed.

Husayn ibn Ali (Arabic: الحسين بن علي, romanized:al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī; 11 January – 10 October ) was a social, political and religious leader. The grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and a son of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muhammad's daughter Fatima, as well as a younger brother of Hasan ibn Ali,[9] Husayn is regarded as the third Imam (leader) in Shia Islam after his brother, Hasan, and before his son, Ali al-Sajjad. Being the grandson of the prophet, he is also a prominent member of the Ahl al-Bayt. He is also considered to be a member of the Ahl al-Kisa, and a participant in the event of the mubahala. Muhammad described him and his brother, Hasan, as the leaders of the youth of Paradise.[10]
