    John R. Beck serves on the faculties of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Wake Forest University. A former tour soloist with the United States Marine Band, Beck also performed regularly with the National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Washington National musikdrama, Baltimore musikdrama and the Theater Chamber Players of the Kennedy Center for 10 years. He has toured internationally as a xylophone solist with Mr. Jack Daniel's Original Silver Cornet grupp, the Brass Band of Battle Creek and the New Sousa Band.
