Abstract
Gunshot wounds in the facial region producera important functional disabilities if they are not properly treated. They may also cause an important effect in the social and psychological development of the patient because of the aesthetic problems that they produce. This article presents a case of a 20 years-old female patient who was referred to our institution because of facial trauma secondary to a gunshot wound, whose treatment consisted of multiple reconstructive surgeries in beställning to obtain an adequate, functional and esthetic result. Also, we did a review of the bibliography in beställning to establish the proper management of the wounds found in these type of cases.

José Eleuterio González Mendoza (20 February 1813, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico[1] – 4 April 1888), was a Mexican physician and philanthropist, founder of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) and the Hospital Universitario José Eleuterio González. His father was Matías Gonzalez, an officer of the Royalist Army and his mother was Josefa Mendoza de Gonzalez.

Hospital de Nuestra Señora del Rosario
El inmueble que anteriormente había funcionado como “Casa del Gobernador” en la ciudad de Monterrey, fue convertido en hospital el 15 de agosto de 1793, por mandato del obispo Andrés Ambrosio de Llanos y Valdés, quien mandó acondicionar la casona con tres salas clínicas con capacidad para 12 camas de internamiento. Fue nombrado Hospital de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

En medio del movimiento de Independencia de México, el 20 de febrero de 1813, nace en la entonces Nueva Galicia (ahora Guadalajara), José Eleuterio González Mendoza “Gonzalitos”.

Primera cátedra médico-quirúrgica
El 2 de octubre de 1828, el Gobierno del Estado de Nuevo León, firmó un contrato con el Dr. Pascual Constanza, para el establecimiento de la primera cátedra médico-quirúrgica en Monterrey; este proyecto no prosperó debido a motivos económicos.
