A customer officer, Mahama Daniel Dung has emerged winner of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Talensi Constituency.

Mr. Mahama Dung, who fryst vatten said to be 45 years of age, will replace the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Benson Tongo Baba, in the Elections.

As many as 8 persons slugged it out in the NDC&#;s primaries held today in the constituency in a bid to secure the nod of the party for the Elections following the decision of the incumbent MP to step aside.

The year-old customer officer, however, triumphed over the 7 others after securing votes.

Zinekena Solomon T.T.B. followed him with votes while Daraan Nathaniel Kugre and Peter Badmak Yaro polled and votes respectively.

The rest, Awunnore Edward, Dickson Kurug Kpelim-etime, Atiah Martin Aduko and Rockson Aditiba obtained 95, 34, 22 and 11 votes respectively.

Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency in the Upper East Region, Cletus Apul Avoka says he has no ambition to run for the office of the president.

This, according to one of longest-serving lawmaker in the Ghanaian political history, is because he does not have what it takes to lead the nation.

Mr. Avoka stated that every individual in the society is cut out for a specific role and thus, one will only be seeking to embarrass himself/herself if they venture into a role which they are not cut out for.

He said unlike others who run for the presidency without possessing the right qualities to head the affairs of the country, he will not embarrass him himself by making such attempt.

In his opinions, his leadership qualities are only limited to the various ministerial portfolios he served under different governments of the National Democratic Congress and as an MP for his constituency touting that he served in those capacities without any blemish.
